Our Curriculum

Learn the latest skills for hair, skin and nail services typically found in salons today.

Instead of following the herd, we developed our own unique curriculum called CLiC (Certified Learning in Cosmetology). Empire’s Minneapolis beauty school has adopted one of the most visually stimulating educations around. Each area of your education is broken down into sections to ensure you master each level as it’s presented, such as:

Hair Cutting
Hair Designing
Hair Coloring
Success Dynamics

Our cosmetology program also consists of other learning tools and methods to introduce students to the basics of cosmetology, the foundations of understanding how to cut hair and the proper techniques of simply cutting, styling and designing.

We then move you on to a more advanced level where you’ll learn about color combinations and how the shape of a person’s face dictates the best cut and style for them.

We'll focus your training and develop your creativity.

You’ll practice all your skills on our mannequins, using your tools from your student cosmetology kit which comes complete with:

Shears
Mannequin
Brushes
Irons
Clips
And much more

These tools are professional quality and you will be able to use them in your career as you head out to your first job. You’ll develop your skills, learn how to use each of your tools the proper way, and gain the confidence to practice your skills on your mannequins.

Enjoy the real-world experience working on actual clients in our modern student salon.

Once our students learn the basics and master all the techniques and skills they’ll need inside the classroom, we graduate you to the student salon. The student salon is a real salon environment complete with pedicure stations, European shampooing bowls and more. You’ll perform all types of salon services:

Hair cutting
Hair coloring
Manicures/Pedicures
Makeup application
Facials
Foils
Roller sets
And many more services….
